Later, in 1922, she introduced a perfume, known as Chanel No. 5 which is still one of the most popular and profitable product of Chanel’s company. Chanel partnered with Pierre Wertheimer in 1924 who owned 70% of the perfume business, while Chanel owned a modest 10% and the remaining 20% was owned by her friend Theophile Bader. Chanel No. 5 gained great success and is the world’s largest selling perfume even today. The Wertheimers continue to own the perfume company till date.
